4Drivers Tedee Bridge

Local integration with Tedee smart locks through the Tedee Bridge, without depending on the cloud.

Overview

The driver adds a Tedee Locks button to the Navigator (touch screens, app and Composer). Its screen lists every lock on the Bridge with:

State (locked, unlocked, jammed), with the state reported by the lock when it did not finish its movement;
Connection, battery level and door state (when a Tedee door sensor is installed);
Lock, Unlock and Pull buttons for each lock, plus Lock All and Unlock All.

Each lock is represented in the project by a 4Drivers Tedee Lock driver (one per lock), connected to this driver. With the Control4 Door Lock (relay) driver connected to it, each lock also gets the standard lock icon and controls in the Navigator.

Requirements

Tedee Bridge on the same network as the controller, with a fixed IP address (DHCP reservation).
Bridge API enabled in the Tedee app (Bridge settings > Bridge API) and the API token at hand.
Locks already paired with the Bridge in the Tedee app.
Correct controller date and time (used by the encrypted authentication).
Each Bridge supports up to 10 Tedee devices. This driver accepts up to 10 Tedee Lock drivers. For more than one Bridge, add one Bridge driver for each.

Installation

Add the driver to the project and fill in Bridge IP Address and API Token. Status should change to "Online" with the number of locks.
For each lock, add a 4Drivers Tedee Lock driver to the room of the door. It connects to this driver automatically (with more than one Bridge, check the Connections tab).
In each Tedee Lock driver, select the lock in the Tedee Lock property.
For the standard lock icon in the Navigator, add the Control4 Door Lock (relay) driver to the room and connect it to the Lock Relay output of the Tedee Lock driver.
Add the Tedee Locks button to the rooms where the homeowner should access the lock list, and refresh the Navigators.

License

The driver runs in evaluation mode for 5 days after it is added to the project. To license it, enter the key in Driver License; License Status shows the result. With more than one Tedee Bridge driver in the project, the key is shared automatically with the others.

When the evaluation expires or the license is not valid, the driver stops reading the locks and ignores commands until a valid key is entered.

Properties

Property	Description
Driver License	Driver license. Blank or "Trial" runs the driver in evaluation mode for 5 days.
License Status	Trial Mode (with remaining time), Trial Expired, Licensed, Blocked or License running in another project.
Cloud Status / Automatic Updates	DriverCentral version only: cloud license status and automatic driver updates.
Bridge IP Address	IP address of the Tedee Bridge.
API Token	Token created in the Tedee app.
Authentication	Encrypted (recommended) or Plain, as set in the Tedee app.
Polling Interval (s)	How often the lock states are read (3 to 60 seconds).
Unlock Mode	Normal: unlocks (and pulls the spring if the lock is set to do so). Unlock without pulling: unlocks only. Unlock or pull: if the lock is already unlocked, pulls the spring. Applies to all locks on this Bridge.
Allow Unlock All	Yes / No. When No, Unlock All is disabled and hidden from the screen.
Lock All With Door Open	Lock anyway or Skip open doors (avoids throwing the bolt while the door is open).
Icon Type	Lock / Key / Tedee Hub. Icon of the button in the Navigator.
Language	English / Portuguese / Spanish. Language of the Navigator screen.
Status	Communication status with the Bridge.
Driver Version	Installed driver version.
Developer Use	Support use only.
Debug Mode	Off / On. Use On only for troubleshooting.

Connections

Connection	Description
Tedee Locks	Where the Tedee Lock drivers connect (up to 10).
Any Door Open	Contact output that stays open while any Tedee door is open. Can be connected to a contact sensor driver, alarms or scenes.

Driver actions

Action	Description
Refresh Locks	Reads the locks from the Bridge again (use after pairing a new lock).
Test Authentication	Tries every authentication format and shows in Status which one the Bridge accepts.
List Locks	Lists the Bridge locks and the connected Tedee Lock drivers in the Lua tab.
Lock All / Unlock All	Locks or unlocks all locks on the Bridge.

Programming

Commands: Lock All, Unlock All.

Events: Bridge Online, Bridge Offline, Any Door Open, All Doors Closed.

Behavior

The Bridge accepts one operation at a time, so commands are sent in sequence. With Lock All, the last lock may take a few extra seconds.
Locks set as not visible in their Tedee Lock driver are hidden from the Navigator screen, but are still included in Lock All / Unlock All.
Names on the Navigator screen follow the names of the Tedee Lock drivers in the project.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	What to check
Status shows "License: ..."	Evaluation expired or license not valid. Check License Status, enter the license in Driver License and make sure the controller has internet access.
"API token rejected by the Bridge"	Run Test Authentication: Status shows which format the Bridge accepts; set Authentication accordingly. Check the controller date/time. If the token was regenerated in the Tedee app, enter the new one.
"Bridge not responding"	IP address, Bridge powered and Bridge API enabled.
Empty list in the Tedee Lock driver	This driver must be Online. Run Refresh Lock List in the Tedee Lock driver.
Tedee Lock driver shows "Bridge limit reached"	More than 10 Tedee Lock drivers are connected to this Bridge.
Lock shown as jammed	The lock did not finish its last movement (for example, the bolt hit the frame). Send Lock or Unlock again; check the door alignment if it happens often.
Command slow or occasionally ignored	Bridge busy with another operation (another system using the Bridge at the same time, for example). The driver retries automatically.
