4Drivers Universal Scheduler and Timer

Schedules created by the homeowner, right from the Navigator, for lights, lighting scenes, shades, air conditioning and room audio/video.

Overview

The driver adds a button with its own screen to the Navigator (touch screens, app and Composer). Each schedule defines:

At the top of the screen, the Active only button (filter icon, the same as in the Control4 app) shows only the active schedules and timers, and the theme selector lets the homeowner switch between Default, Classic and Light (the choice applies to all screens and changes the Interface Theme property).

Devices are found automatically in the project and can be browsed by room or by type. Rooms follow the project order, and hidden rooms are not shown.

Available actions

TypeActions
LightsOn, off, level (%) and ramp to a level over a set time. On/off circuits (non-dimmer) show only on and off.
Lighting scenesActivate, deactivate and toggle.
MacrosRun a project macro (the same ones created in the Composer Macros agent).
Shades and blindsOpen, close, position (%) and stop.
ClimateOff, or on/adjust with mode, setpoint and fan. The fan options are the ones the unit reports (when it reports none, Auto, Low, Medium and High are offered).
RelaysClose, open, toggle and pulse (closes and opens again by itself after 1 to 60 seconds, useful for gates and locks).
Room mediaWatch or Listen (one or the other, as in the Navigator). Watch: a room video device or a channel. Listen: a room audio device, a radio/favorite (registered stations, TuneIn favorites and streaming presets) or a playlist. Optional volume. The options are the same the room offers in the Navigator.
Room controlRoom off, volume (%), mute and unmute.

In the editor, the â–¶ button next to each action sends the command immediately, for testing.

Timers

On the Timers tab, the New timer button creates a countdown of up to 23 hours and 59 minutes that, when it ends, runs the same actions as a schedule (lights, scenes, shades, climate and audio/video).

Control4 scheduler

Each schedule also appears in the Control4 scheduler, which handles the timing. This allows sunrise and sunset, calculated from the project location.

If the Control4 scheduler is not available on the system, the driver keeps track of the clock itself and runs fixed-time schedules only. The Scheduler Agent Status property shows this condition.

Schedules created by the driver appear read-only in the Composer scheduler, with the driver number in front of the name (e.g. "4D_123 Good night"), so two drivers in the same project can use the same name. Within one driver, each schedule (and each timer) must have a different name. Always change them through the driver screen. If one is deleted in the Composer scheduler, the driver recreates it automatically within 5 minutes (to remove it for good, delete it from the driver screen).

Requirements

Installation

  1. Add the driver to the project and add its button to the rooms where the homeowner should access the schedules.
  2. Set Language.
  3. Check Devices Found to confirm the project devices were found. If devices are added later, use the Refresh Device List action or the Refresh list button on the Devices tab.
  4. Open the button in the Navigator and create the schedules.
